The best wine farms in South Africa is located in the Western Cape. Some of the international renowned regions include the Cape Winelands with Paarl, Stellenbosch and Wellington. The Swartland district includes towns like Malmesbury, Darling and Riebeek-West.
Wine farms generally fall into either of two types. First, you get wine farms that only grows the grapes and sell it to a co-op or a private cellar. Most of the properties listed on the website fall in this category as it’s basically a normal farm for sale.
The second type of wine farm is generally a wine estate. Wine estates grow the grapes and have their own cellar. They produce and bottle their own wines under their own labels. Most wine estates combine the income received from the wine sales with an on-site restaurant and sometimes even accommodation on the estate to complete the experience.
Our wine estates for sale are not listed as they are running businesses and if the general public is aware that it’s for sale, it might influence the business negatively.
