Area Information

Cellar information

The wine cellar's capacity offers a good supplemental income - as it is possible to increase its production capacity by offering a service to other wine farms in the region. The cellar is a plastered brick structure carved "into a mountain" - under iron sheet roof covering. This building is made up of a barrel and tank storage, office, ablution facilities and an attached 3 bedroom dwelling, partially utilized as reception and tasting area. The owner has started construction on an extension of the wine cellar's reception and wine tasting area - with the most beautiful views of the Riebeek Valley.

This entertainment area has a plunge pool and an outside seating area.

Ecotourism

The farm is zoned as agricultural zone 2 - meaning it has consent usage for 5 additional homes (of about 500 sq.m), a restaurant and an entertainment facility.

Land layout

The farm has 27 ha of vineyards and 33 ha of irrigable land. There are 111 hectares mountain land with natural veld and bush for grazing. The homestead and other land is about 5 hectares.

Improvements

The 4 bedroom manor house is at present used by wine interns - foreigners learning the wine industry / wine making on the farm. The interior is dated but can be restored to become the new owners main house.

Labour housing

There are 6 plastered brick structures which are equipped with water and electricity and provides housing to 6 families. The seller will make sure that the farm is free of occupation before transfer of the property.

There are 2 stores / sheds on the farm - 1 x Shed is a plastered brick structure under iron roof sheet (located next to the farm's homestead) and the second one is a steel frame shed of 270 sq.m. (value about R540 000) with plastered brick and asbestos infill walls under asbestos roof sheets - located at the cellar.

The owner has spend about a R1 million on building a tar road from the farm entrance to the wine cellar - making access during winter easy. Estimated total value of the farm's equipment is about R5 million and it has wine stock of about R2,155 million.
